We studied the effect of a nitric oxide donor - SNP (sodium nitroprusside,) - on the growth and state of the components of the antioxidant system of wheat seedlings under conditions of dehydration modeled by 12% PEG. The protective effect of 200 µM SNP pretreatment on wheat plants was revealed, as evidenced by an increased content of reduced glutathione (GSH), a decrease in stress-induced accumulation of MDA, and glutathione S-transferase (GST) activity, which is reflected in maintaining a high level of growth processes.
