Polymerase chain reaction is an indispensable method of modern biological science and medicine. This method consists in enzymatic formation of nucleic acid fragments after multiple increasing in the amount of the original DNA or RNA target. The need for PCR analysis of complex biological materials leads to the development of approaches that increase the sensitivity and specificity of the reaction. One of such methods is the addition of special substances to PCR-reaction mixtures - inhibitors or PCR enhancers, which modulate the course of the reaction. In this study, the course of PCR was studied in the presence of Na-salts of hexahydropyrimidine and bis(1,2,3,4-tetrahydropyridine) derivatives and tetrahydropyrimidinium salt - analogues of ectoins that known as PCR enhancers. It turned out that the hexahydropyrimidine derivatives had practically no effect on the course of PCR, and the bis(1,2,3,4-tetrahydropyridine) derivatives mostly inhibited PCR at a concentration of 10 mM. The closest analogue of ectoine, tetrahydropyrimidinium salt, has a moderate inhibitory effect.
