Aims and scope

Biomics is an online journal established in 2011 by a Decree of the Academic Council of the Institute of Biochemistry and Genetics under the Ufa Research Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Due to rearrangements of the network of research institutions in 2020, the Ufa Federal Research Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences was announced the founder of the journal.

The journal is meant for a wide range of professionals, such as researchers and doctoral students who focus on physicochemical biology and students who study relevant programs.

The journal is a ground for publishing and discussing findings and challenging issues including hypotheses in physicochemical biology and cross-disciplinary areas. The journal's materials cover a wide range of subjects associated with the current biology.

The editorial board of Biomics is inviting researchers to become authors or reviewers.

The journal publishes only papers never published elsewhere before.

The publications are in Russian and English.

The journal will consider publication of the following types of materials:

- theoretical articles and overviews, including hypotheses;

- original literature reviews;

- articles on new research methods;

- brief essays;

- information on research conferences, seminars and meetings;

- monograph or book reviews;

- reports on research events (symposia, conferences and other significant research events);

- experts' comments to previously published articles;

- letters to the editor.

If agreed upon with the Editor-in-Chief, the journal may publish articles on the history of science, if the raised issues appear fundamental for the contemporary interpretations in physicochemical biology.

The journal is issued 4 times a year.

Publication is free of charge.

Mass Media State Registration Certificate: ЭЛ No. ФС 77‑75584  dated Apr 19, 2019.

The journal bears ISSN 2221-6197.

The journal has been indexed by the Russian Science Citation Index since 2011.

Since 2018 the articles have been assigned a DOI (prefix 10.31301)

Biomics adheres to Open Access.

Journal's Mission

The new scholarly knowledge emerges as a continuous and dynamic process. This process ignores both geographical borders and language barriers. That is why peer-reviewed journals stand forward to arrange prompt and considerate publication of the latest findings or re-evaluate the existing information in the light of the new data, hypotheses and theories. Articles published in our journal conform to the international academic and ethical standards. The new scholarly knowledge cannot emerge unless there is a high-quality and fruitful scientific discussion. Such a discussion can be achieved through independent, unbiased and competent peer-review. Biomics focuses on physical and chemical biology and operates as a full-fledged member of the research process.

Aims & Purposes

The contemporary biology is a rapidly advancing branch of science. Its achievements outline the future of the humanity, people's health, food, comfortable environment and biodiversity.

Today's world is intense. Therefore, an important tool for development and distribution of scholarly knowledge is a scientific journal focused on particular fields of studies. Driven by the respective goal, Biomics was established in 2011. The journal has become a platform for publishing and discussing a wide range of issues in the contemporary biology. Biomics mainly focuses on physicochemical biology (biochemistry, genetics, molecular biology, plant physiology and biochemistry, microbiology, etc.)

Today's science features interdisciplinary nature. The journal embraces publications on and experts in cross-disciplinary studies associated with biological research and other branches of study that use biomolecules other than for biological purposes.

Biomics aims to form high-quality researches in physicochemical biology (biochemistry, genetics, molecular biology, plant physiology and biochemistry, microbiology and more) and cross-disciplinary studies that use biomolecules to a certain extend.
