Характерные особенности нокаута гена PDS у различных видов растений

Аннотация:

Ген PDS, кодирующий фермент фитоендесатуразу (phytoene desaturase), играет важную роль в синтезе каротиноидов в растительных клетках и представляет большой интерес для геномного редактирования в качестве селективного маркера. Нокаут (инактивация) данного гена приводит к потере пигментации (альбинизму) и карликовости, что позволяет выявлять растения c отредактированным геномом визуально. Было накоплено значительное количество данных о роли гена PDS в синтезе каротиноидов, а также о его применении в геномном редактировании как селективного маркера. На сегодняшний день нокаут и функциональное исследование гена PDS проведены у множества видов растений, включая представителей семейств Паслёновые, Тыквенные, Банановые, Бобовые, Сложноцветные и т.д., тогда как у ряда других экономически значимых культур роль этого гена остается не валидированной, что подчёркивает сохраняющуюся актуальность его изучения для совершенствования методов геномного редактирования.
