Biometric characteristics and nectar production for Elsholtzia cristata (Vietnamese balm) have been studied. Individual components of nectar productivity (methods, timing and standards of sowing) were investigated. The greatest amount of sugar in the nectar of flowers of Elsholtzia cristata is released in 17 hours with winter sowing; the maximum nectar productivity is achieved with late spring sowing and is 60.3 kg of honey per hectare.
